Tom Nowland graduated from Huron High School in 1981. While a River Rat, Tom was a letter holder in three different sports: Golf Ð two year varsity letter, Baseball Ð two year varsity letter, and Hockey Ð three year varsity letter, Goalie. As a member of the Hockey team, Tom received the James F. LaPointe Award, was MVP of the team, and was an All-State selection. Tom also served as Captain of the Golf team. After graduating from Huron, Tom attended Michigan State University where he received his B.A. in Business Administration. TomÕs Ò15 Minutes of FameÓ occurred when he played for Michigan State against Ohio State in the 1983 CCHA Playoffs. Tom attributes his success in life to lessons learned during his Huron and Michigan State athletic experiences. Tom is currently Regional Director for Guardian LifeÕs Group Division, is most proud of his wife Lisa and his children Connor and Keely. Tom will always be proud to be a River Rat. His most favorite memories are Òhanging with my friends in the dugout, on the golf course and in the locker room.Ó |
