Mark C. Foster is a 1974 graduate from Huron High School. As a member of HuronÕs Cross Country Team, he was undefeated in dual meets his junior and senior years. Team honors include Team Captain and MVP. In 1973, Mark was the Conference Champion and achieved a top 10 finish at the State Cross Country Championships. In 1973 and 1974, Mark was the MVP on HuronÕs Track Team. During his career he achieved All Conference Honors and played a vital role in earning several Conference Team Championships. Along with several teammates, Mark set state records in the Two-Mile Relay and the Distance Medley Relay. Their Two-Mile Relay Team were Champions at the prestigious Mansfield Relay Track Meet. Mark earned All State Honors by placing 5th at the State meet in the Two-Mile Run. After graduating from Huron, Mark attended the University of Michigan, receiving a B.S. in Natural Resources in 1978. While at Michigan, Mark earned four letters in cross country and three in track. Mark helped the Wolverines achieve seven Big Ten Team Championships, three in cross country and four in track. In 1976, Mark achieved All-American honors for his 2nd place finish in the Two-Mile Relay at the NCAA Indoor National Championships. Times of 4:08.2 in the Mile Relay and 1:50.1 in the 800 Meter Run were MarkÕs personal bests as a Wolverine. Following college, Mark was coach of HuronÕs Cross Country team for 7 seasons (1978-1984). Mark is Founder and President of A.M. Services, a lawn care and snow removal company. He is married to Sue Frederick, an Inaugural River Rat Hall of Fame Inductee.
